Author Guidelines

1. Electronic Сollection «Theory and Practice of Jurisprudence» is published twice a year.
Articles are accepted according to the fixed schedule:

– issue 1 (March) – up to February 28 of the current year;

– issue 2 (November) – up to October 30 of the current year.

2. Electronic versions of articles in Ukrainian and accompanying materials are
sent by e-mail to the Editorial and Publishing Department of Scientific Publications ( The file should be called by the last name of the author.
3. On receipt of the notice of compliance of the article with the set of requirements the following accompanying materials are submitted personally or sent by non-registered letter to the University address (Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Editorial and Publishing Department of Scientific Publications, Pushkinska st., 77, Kharkiv, 61024, Ukraine):
– the manuscript which is identical to the electronic version, signed by the author on the last page;
– the extract from the minutes of the department meeting of the educational institution (Scientific and Methodological Council of the institution) at the place of employment (study) of the author with the recommendation for publication of the material;
– the review of a Doctor/Candidate of Sciences with a degree in specialty corresponding to the specialist field of the edition with indication of his scientific degree, academic rank, and place of employment;
– the extended (up to 3000 characters with spaces) annotation (summary) in English in electronic and paper form; according to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine of October 17, 2012 No 1111 the English version shall include all obligatory structural elements of a scientific article (problem setting, analysis of recent research and publications, statement of the article objective, presentation of the main body of the article, conclusions from the given research) (see. Appendix 1);
– the licensing agreement of the author (or co-authors) to place the article on the official website of the University (, V.I. Vernadsky National Library (, the Scientific Electronic Library (Russian Federation) ( and in other international scientometrical databases (Appendix 2);
– the photo of the author (co-authors) of the article, size – 4×5,5 with the extension * .jpg, quality 600×600 dpi.
4. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject materials, return them for improvement, abridge and edit. If necessary, the manuscript of the article can be send for review to the members of the Editorial Board. Materials submitted with violations of the stated requirements are not published and will not be returned to the authors. Scanned or photographed charts, figures, tables, etc. shall not be used.
Technical requirements:
– the text of the article should be typed using the text editor WORD (version
1998 – 2003) for WINDOWS, font Times New Roman No 14, line spacing 1.5, margins: left – 3 cm, right – 1.5 cm, top and bottom – 2 cm (for accompanying materials); the article without the reference list shall not exceed 8 – 11 pages.
Requirements for the text layout of the article:
– in the upper left corner of the first page UDC code number is stated;
– the next line (using font Times New Roman No 12, line spacing 1.0) –
information about the author (co-authors) in Ukrainian, Russian and English (full name, scientific degree, academic rank, full job title and name of the institution where the author (co-authors) works or studies, contact telephone number, e-mail), ORCID ID;
– the title of the article in Ukrainian, Russian and English is placed in the center below;
– then – annotations up to 50 words and keywords (5 – 7) in Ukrainian, Russian and English (using font Times New Roman No 12, line spacing 1.0);
– all parts of articles in English (information about the author (co-authors), title, annotation, keywords) should be translated professionally;
– structural parts of the article are typed bold;
– references to the sources of the used materials and the factual and statistical data are obligatory;
– a second citation is not permitted;
– only conventional symbols should be used in formulas;
– tables, figures, graphs should be numbered and supplied with titles;
– the minimum size of the article – up to 12 pages (including annotations, tables, graphs and references).
Articles exceeding the established size may be taken into consideration upon the decision of the Editorial Board.
The requirements for the article structure:
The article should have appropriate theoretical, scientific and applied nature, comply with the requirements of the Regulation of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine «On Increasing Demands for Scientific Professional Editions Included in the Lists of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine» of January 15, 2003 No 7-05/1.
The author (co-author) is responsible for accuracy and reliability of the presented material, fair allocation of authorship, the accuracy of the facts (data) set out in the paper and the quality of translation of foreign sources citation (if any).
Bibliography is made according to State Standards of Ukraine (DSTU GOST 7.1:2006) and in accordance with the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine, form 23 (Higher Attestation Commission Bulletin. – 2009. – No 5). The number of sources used in the materials shall not exceed 15 (seeAppendix 3).
The Editorial Board recommends references in bibliography to the articles published in the scientific collections having global citation index (Scopus, Web of Science). Moreover, it is recommended to familiarize with the works of scholars of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University on the theme of the article. They are available on the website of the University Library, V.I. Vernadsky National Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine or in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) System by searching for key words.
